Overarching goals of the CENC are to examine the critical issues related to the identification and characterization of the anatomic, molecular, and physiological mechanisms of chronic injury from mTBI. Four specific research questions are posed:
1. Describe the Common Effects after mTBI
2. Define an Association Between mTBI, Common Effects, and Neurodegeneration
3. Identify Tools to Measure the Diagnosis and Prognosis for Common Effects and Neurodegeneration after mTBI
4. Assess the Efficacy of Interventions for Common Effects and Neurodegeneration after mTBI
Within each of these research questions, various subdomains of interest have been specified.
